Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her position as the Space and Defence Correspondent for CNN, she has to cover everything ranging from NASA and its recently created Space Force up until commercial space-related companies and the rise and development of tourism to space. Kristin, her mother was one of NASA astronauts as well as a space enthusiast has spent her entire childhood in the industry. She served for five years in the position of White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy under the Trump and Biden Administrations. During that time, she also reported on impeachment hearings for President Trump as well as the presidential campaign for 2020 and efforts by two administrations in order to control the Coronavirus Pandemic. The president of the time Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Before becoming a part of the company in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through the local news channels which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded the Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin started Field Mouse Films with her expertise behind the camera in the year 2014. The company specialized in making documentaries for corporate clients, such as Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is an Bachelor of Science in Journalism that she earned at Boston University. Her husband and three year-old daughter reside in Washington, D.C.
